Deep Exploration Technologies CRC (DET CRC) | 2010 - 2018

Overview

The Deep Exploration Technologies Cooperative Research Centre (DET CRC) was an Australian research collaboration established to develop new technologies for mineral exploration beneath cover. Operating from 2010 to 2018, DET CRC brought together industry, researchers and government to improve the effectiveness, cost and safety of exploration in challenging environments.

Key Focus

DET CRC’s work focused on:

  • ADVANCED DRILLING TECHNOLOGIES

  • DOWNHOLE SENSING AND REAL-TIME DATA

  • IMPROVED TARGETING AND IMAGING METHODS

DET CRC’s program delivered a number of prototype technologies and field trials, supporting the advancement of exploration capability in Australia.

Legacy

DET CRC contributed to the development of new exploration approaches and technologies, many of which have informed ongoing research and industry innovation.

Continuation of Work

This work continues through the MinEx CRC, which builds on the legacy of DET CRC to further advance mineral exploration technologies.
