Third AutoSonde Sensor En Route

Posted on November 18, 2016 by DET CRC

Metalwork for the galvanic resistivity sensor of the AutoSonde (electrode configuration pixelated).

The third sensor compatible with the AutoSonde platform will measure galvanic resistivity. A prototype design has been completed. The metalwork including electrode configuration has been fabricated with the next steps being sensor testing, followed by interfacing of the sensor with AutoSonde electronics, then finally lab and field trials. Once the galvanic resistivity sensor is complete, the AutoSonde platform will be able to simultaneously recover gamma, magnetic susceptibility and electrical resistivity each time the driller trips out of the hole.
