IP & Commercialisation

Intellectual Property (IP) resulting from DET CRC projects is legally owned by the CRC. However, the CRC aims to rapidly commericalise its IP through commercialisation agreements with service companies. It is not the intention of the DET CRC to ‘hold on’, or endeavour itself to commercialise IP.

This philosophy of commercialisation through service companies, for whom commercialisation of new technologies is part of their core business, is a critical step in successfully impacting on the hardware and workflows of the mineral exploration business.

Commercialisation agreements will recognise both background IP brought to the CRC’s projects and new IP developed in the course of CRC-supported projects. Commercialisation agreements will include favourable terms for CRC participants and may also include exclusivity periods.
